Continuous Improvement Intern

Now Hiring a Continuous Improvement and Inventory Control Intern in our Edison, NJ plant, Silgan Container’s first facility to install onsite solar!

What You’ll Do: 

Review and improve operational processes using lean methodologies like value stream mapping and waste reduction strategies. 

Assist with inventory management through accurate record-keeping, stock level monitoring, and data reconciliation. 

Measure, review, and summarize data related to inventory performance and operational efficiency, contributing insights to management. 

Review inventory turnover rates and contribute to forecasting and replenishment strategies to improve efficiency 

Liaise with cross-functional teams, including operations, supply chain, and warehouse staff, to ensure alignment in process improvement initiatives. 

Contribute to training sessions, workshops, and meetings to promote a culture of continuous improvement. 

Assist with software or tool implementations to streamline inventory control and reporting processes. 

 

We Need You To Have: 

Enrollment in a degree program in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. 

Strong problem-solving skills. 

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, although expertise is preferred. 

Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities. 

Familiarity with lean manufacturing or inventory management systems is a plus. 

Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and on your own.
