Continuous Improvement Leader (Americas)

Job Description:

JOB TITLE: Continuous Improvement Leader (Americas)

Job Summary:

Deployment of continuous improvement tools and skills across the Americas Industrial operations network, consisting of 4 Building Products coating  production sites, 4 Powder coatings production sites, and 3 General Industrial Liquids sites.Development, Prioritization, and Execution of the America’s productivity project portfolio.

Work Location: This role requires a hybrid onsite work presence within one of the following locations and the ability to travel approx. 50%:

High Point, NCHuntsville, ALHouston, TX

Key Responsibilities:

Use continuous improvement skills to identify and implement activities aligned with operational excellence strategy. This includes the implementation of programs to standardize processes, reduce costs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the network.Provide hands-on leadership and facilitation of continuous improvement initiatives across all assigned locations and work directly with local plant teams to assess, prioritize, and implement continuous improvement actions.Facilitate on-site  training and development to build and implement continuous improvement toolkits (i.e., process mapping, root cause analysis, 5S TVPM etc.) and drive consistent methodologies across the network.Lead routine site assessments and gap analysis; outlining areas of improvement and transferable best practices.Work with global corporate center of excellence team for the further development and improvement of production standards.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably process engineering, mechanical engineering, logistics, chemical engineering or related field.Minimum 10 years of experience in the continuous improvement of plant operations.Certifications for Lean Management, project management, or six sigma preferred.Experience in a consulting capacity is advantageous.Travel required: approx. 50%.Working knowledge of multiple operations disciplines (i.e., operations, quality systems, EHS&S, Lean/Six Sigma tools, etc.) amongst products, including experience applying or implementing lean manufacturing, kaizen methodology and productions systems.Demonstrated capability of leading project teams to tangible results.Ability to balance strategic and hands-on requirements of the role with a flexible and collaborative management style.Must be a change agent with a record of accomplishments focusing on driving transformational change.Strong financial and analytical skills; must be able to develop and implement a strategy to maximize productivity and profitability.Ability to work across the network with strong influencing skills to achieve desired results without direct reporting responsibilities.Experience leading in a complex and matrixed environment and driving an inclusive and engaging culture.Demonstrated experience in gathering and analyzing business data and key performance indicators for senior level leadership teams.Flexible and adaptable to demanding and fast-paced work environment.Excellent communication and management skills in an international working environment.
