What You’ll Do
As a Continuous Improvement Manager, you will focus on enhancing organizational efficiency by identifying areas for improvement within business processes. You'll develop, implement, and monitor strategies to streamline operations, often using methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma. This role involves leading cross-functional teams, analyzing performance data, and fostering a culture of ongoing enhancement to boost productivity and quality. Additionally, you'll be tasked with creating engineering standards to ensure consistency and quality, and implementing labor management software to optimize workforce efficiency.
Identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement in processes and systems.Implement Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance operations.Lead cross-functional teams in executing improvement projects.Analyze performance data to inform decisions and measure improvement impact.Facilitate workshops and training sessions on process optimization techniques.Cultivate a culture of continuous learning and change readiness within the organization.Develop production schedules that maximize efficiency and minimize costs.Design systems that integrate workers, information, materials, and technology effectively.Conduct time and motion studies to streamline workflows and reduce waste.Optimize plant layouts for improved productivity, safety, and ergonomics.Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for ongoing assessment.Implement quality control procedures to maintain product standards.Use simulation tools to model and predict system performance outcomes.Collaborate with department heads to align improvement initiatives with business strategy.Analyze manufacturing processes for automation and technological upgrades.Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and engineering standards.Manage change initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new processes or technologies.Evaluate supply chain logistics for efficiency and cost reduction.Prepare detailed reports and presentations on engineering and improvement studies.Implement labor management software to optimize workforce efficiency.Participate in product design to influence manufacturability and cost.Conduct capacity planning to meet future production demands.Recommend ergonomic adjustments to prevent worker fatigue and injuries.Assess and manage risks associated with process or system changes.Facilitate root cause analysis for operational issues.Design and oversee the installation of new or upgraded manufacturing systems.Train and support staff on new or revised processes and systems.Coordinate with maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and uptime.Monitor and document processes for knowledge sharing and compliance.Promote best practices across the organization, ensuring continuous improvement.Up to 50% TravelWhat You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.Demonstrated experience in managing or administering Labor Management Systems or similar workforce management software. Next View, Red Prairie, Blue YonderStrong analytical skills with an aptitude for data-driven decision-making.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross-departmental collaboration and staff training.Proven ability to work autonomously while contributing to team objectives.Experience in engineering labor standards creation and maintenance is highly desirable.Advanced proficiency in SQL for data analysis and reporting.Experience with data visualization and analysis tools.Familiarity with project management software for coordinated system updates and enhancements.Microsoft office suite, Project, Planner, LMS softwareKnowledge of labor standards methodologies and tools.Creating Standards Using MOST methodologies.Proven leadership skills in conducting KaizensLean Production background.Why We Love It
