Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager in Jackson, MI. Relocation assistance provided.
The Continuous Improvement Manager will be responsible for leading the design and continuous improvement of the manufacturing model deployed across multiple value streams. The CI Manager will provide input and execute the EAG Continuous Improvement strategy. The CI Manager will be expected to stimulate management thinking by challenging conventional wisdom through the demonstration and application of Lean Six Sigma methodology. The CI Manager will provide guidance and knowledge for site management to lead and influence change in the organization.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $108749.97 - $159499.96 a year.

What you’ll do:• Drive the Operational Excellence (OPEX) strategic vision and roadmaps for the Jackson, MI facility
• Provide expertise for Eaton Business System (EBS) tools and training including, EBS Pull, OpA, EBS Assessment, and other tools
• Lead and facilitate Business Operation System (BOS) meetings and agenda to drive continuous improvement
• Drive Cost-Out accountability for the site in alignment with the site’s annual Profit Plan objectives
• Provide support & guidance to the Jackson leadership team with Kaizens, problem solving, and ensuring EBS adherence
• Lead the Eaton Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) deployment (visual controls, process standardization, leader standard work, Gemba walks, manning strategy, daily accountability, process checks and CI for everyone)
• Build ELSS organizational capability and develop local ELSS/CI Tool Champions by providing training and consulting support
• Lead the development and implementation of a plant-wide training plan
• Monitor productivity to ensure that established shift quality and production levels are maintained or exceeded
• Use data to identify and implement improvements to improve efficiency, capability, reduce variation, and quality of processes.
• Utilizes Lean and Six Sigma tools to eliminate waste driving customer satisfaction, cost reduction, and improved working capital performance.
• Works through site leadership to Lead the site continuous improvement team, and corporate Lean initiatives and reporting.
• Leads the continuous improvement (Lean and Six Sigma) team. Assists in improvement activities including training, mentoring, facilitating Kaizen events, Six Sigma projects, tool deployment, benchmarking, etc.
• Analyzes organizational metrics and performs managerial reviews to evaluate results and recommend action plans to close gaps at an operational level
• Ensure a safe work environment for all employees, in collaboration with the EHS Manager; Drive and support behavioral based zero incident safety culture
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment
• Prior Lean Six Sigma background and a minimum of 3 years applied experience
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred Qualifications:
• Six Sigma Black Belt certified.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• Multiple years of related professional and Supervisory/Managerial experience with proven capability to lead change in a team environment.
• Proficiency in various software applications – i.e. Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Manufacturing, MS Office suite, MiniTab, etc.
• Detailed knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques – i.e. value stream mapping, one piece flow, problem solving, etc.
• Detailed knowledge of Six Sigma concepts and tools as they relate to minimizing process / product variability – i.e. regression analysis, design of experiments, hypothesis testing, etc.
• Thorough understanding of problem-solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s) - i.e. thought maps, 8D, root cause analysis, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis, Gage R & R, control charts, Pareto charts, etc.
• Knowledge of industry and customer specific quality processes (i.e., ISO9001, AS9100 etc).
• Knowledge of manufacturing principles and technical specifications to support facilities competencies – i.e. metal cutting, tool design, welding, forming, etc.
• Limited travel may be required
