Greendale is one of Catalent’s gummy technology development and manufacturing facilities in North America. The site manufactures organic and vegan-based nutraceuticals via confection to enhance wellness for all consumers.  Simply put – we make healthy gummies. Within the Catalent network, we offer a broad range of integrated formulation and analytical services to solve difficult development and manufacturing challenges.

The Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for helping drive continuous improvement (CI) efforts at the Greendale, Indiana site. The Continuous Improvement Specialist will report to the Continuous Improvement Site Leader, this person is a dedicated resource responsible for operational transformation using LEAN, Six Sigma, and other advanced problem-solving tools.

The Role

Identify continuous improvement opportunities throughout the organization by routinely performing GEMBA audits, reviewing site metrics, and advocating for the employees.

Prioritize and select projects that leverage LEAN six sigma tools to drive improvements through the hierarchy of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.

Engage teams to help establish a Continuous Improvement culture and execute advanced problem-solving activities.

Develop, monitor, and improve upon the Standard Works system.

Champion the RCA Process and assist in building RCA capabilities across the site.

Model advanced problem-solving and LEAN Leader behavior and propagate that behavior at the local site level. Also design, develop, and deliver site-appropriate LEAN Six Sigma training.

Work collaboratively with Continuous Improvement & Technology team colleagues, seeking the guidance of more experienced personnel as needed on assigned projects and serve in a supporting role on larger, more complex projects.

Facilitate problem-solving and Work-Out sessions to lead teams to address issues not requiring the DMAIC approach.

The Candidate

Bachelor's Degree or Technical Certificate/Associates Degree with 3 years experience or High School/GED and 5 years experience required

Previous ERP/MRP experience preferred

Must have experience with advanced problem–solving (LEAN six sigma, SMED, DMAIC, TPM, etc.) and change-management methodologies consistent with establishing a culture of continuous improvement.

A full complement of business computer literacy skills (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, database software etc.) is Required. Demonstrated intermediate mathematical ability.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools: Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and statistical analysis software (e.g. Minitab, JMP, etc.)

The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard

Use of manual dexterity is required

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, bend or twist, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
