Continuous Improvement Specialist (Aerospace)

Description:

This individual will be joining the Continuous Improvement, which is an enterprise group supporting various business units within our customer. This individual will be mandated with implementing continuous improvement concepts based on corporate guidelines. This individual will be supporting all manufacturing operations which means they have to have an inclination for technical environments.

Role & Responsibilities:

- The CI team enforces CI philosophies which is a framework on how the business is run. Their focus is around goal setting, implementing continuous improvement philosophies to tackle specific business objectives.

- Every domain has a focal contact which is a person working in the business unit. The CI team partners with that focal person to improve the business unit. This individual will be supporting the machine shop which means they need to have an understanding of how manufacturing environments operate.

o The CI specialist will help create the sandbox to define the problem and the mandate.

o They will then help provide them with the tools to help them become self-sufficient.

o They will act as trainers/facilitators because they are subject matter experts.

- The CI specialists are consulting/experts of tools and methodologies to improve the focal unit. Focal members are quite new which is why this person is supporting from a consultative standpoint.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must Haves:

- Bilingualism – French and English (Written & Spoken)

- 3-5+ years of experience in Continuous Improvement field - Strong understanding of concepts and terminology used in CI.

o Example of titles: Project Engineers, Plant Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Manufacturing Analysts.

- Bachelor's in STEM or Arts or Commerce.

Assets:

- Industrial/Mechanical Engineering – Technical terms used

Experience in Aerospace manufacturing

o Process mapping, value stream mapping

- Someone who has experience leading and facilitating trainings
