POSITION SUMMARY:
The Continuous Improvement Specialist will be responsible for working on projects that impact the company’s safety, quality, cost, and delivery by using Lean Sigma tools, materials, machines, and processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs standard work analysis and maintains standard work documents.Routinely audits lines to ensure standard work and sustainment.Prepares and plans of workflow and process routing documents.Prepares layout of efficient use of machinery and equipment.Studies processes and analyzes cost of production.Performs and documents time and motion studies.Studies ergonomics of processes.Calculates labor and equipment capacity requirements.Recommends operation and process changes to increase production or improve standards.Assists with facilitating Kaizen events.Mentors and trains team leads through Lean Principals and MDI tools.ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNEDEXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalentKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
Must be extremely knowledgeable of Kaizen and Lean SigmaComputer literate with excel, power point, word experienceExperience with CAD tools helpfulStrong organizational abilities in record keeping, filing and document preparationAbility to perform basic mathematical calculations and report data accuratelyExcellent interpersonal skillsSharp production focus with a drive for accurate and timely results.Ability to manipulate tools and assembly components involving fine and gross motor skills sufficient to demonstrate the jobExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAnalytical, negotiation, problem-solving and conflict resolution skillsMust be able to be self-directedAbility to work in a team environmentTRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
