The Continuous Improvement Tech has influence on the safe, efficient and sustainable operation of the BioProducts facility. The focus of this position is to improve the performance of their process while leveraging the tools provided by the ADM Performance Excellence process. This will be an Operator 1 position. The area of responsibility will be the fermentation department.   

Job Responsibilities:Fully understand and utilize Zero Loss concepts to collect, analyze and interpret relevant data to develop a loss landscape for the purpose of identifying deployments and prioritizing resources and focus.Partner with department leadership and operators to identify short, medium and long term projects and engagements to mitigate and eliminate the causes of highest losses in all aspects of their process.Take ownership of executing on identified short and medium term continuous improvement projects and engagements.Continuously apply Performance Excellence tools to in efforts to contribute to the continuous improvement and readiness of the BioProducts facility.Lead and coach Focused Improvement projects.Act as the subject matter expert on their process and associated production equipment.Support efforts to implement technology and practices to reduce contamination, increase productivity and yield and increase utilization of idle equipment.Provide training, mentoring, and transfer knowledge to colleagues at all levels of the organizationProvide feedback to colleagues regarding effective operations and performanceUnderstand their role in food safety and quality systems, is actively engaged in plant and food safety efforts, and ensures conformance to good manufacturing practicesOther duties necessary to continuously improve the facility.Job Experience/Skills:5+ years of experience in operations at the ADM BioProducts facility.Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work across functions including both verbal and written.Creative/analytical problem solving skills and innovative approaches to resolve complex problemsStrong Microsoft skills such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and WordDemonstration of a commitment to utilize Performance Excellence tools and strategies to solve acute and chronic plant issues.Working Conditions:Must be able to work in a variety of environmental conditions, such as hot and cold temperatures and a dusty environmentMust be able to work with various chemicals safelyPhysical Requirements:Ability to ascend and descend stairsMust be able to move/transport 55 poundsSit and stand for long periodsWork in confined spacesWork at heightsBending and kneelingBe respirator qualifiedKey Standard Work Items:Layered auditingGEMBA walksAction register reviewsPareto analysis of department losses and deviationsDepartment review and responseDowntime/OEE reportingSCProOthers as neededOn-The-Job Training Requirements:New colleagues will need to undergo on-the-job training to acquire skills and certifications, which will be assessed according to established standardsComplete ADM safety, food safety, quality, and environmental trainingParticipate in company planner operations trainingEquipment training may include but not limited to JLP, Forklift, Non-DOT Truck, Reach Lift, Lock Out/Tag Out, etc.ADM requires the successful completion of a background check and medical clearance.
