Contract Advisor- Project Execution
Dematic has an immediate need for a Contract Manager to support the continual growth of Dematic’s Canadian business through the project execution lifecycle. This position is responsible for partnering closely with the Project Management team to advise, and support risk mitigation for the business, enforcing contractual rights when necessary. The person in this position will perform duties such as analyzing, interpreting, and explaining contract concepts, reviewing/editing contract change orders, and working with the project team to realize all possible opportunities to mitigate overspending by utilizing claims appropriately.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities and a team focus to partner with various technical disciplines and internal departments including both Project Management and the Legal team. To be successful, the ideal candidate will use his/her strong interpersonal skills to serve as an advisor and subject matter expert on multiple simultaneous projects within a corporate setting. This position involves some travel (20% or less), the majority of which will be to project installation sites in Canada, although some travel may be international (to the US and Germany).

Tasks and Qualifications:

This is What You Will do in This Role:

Provide end-to-end contract interpretation support for various sizes of Dematic projects, often simultaneouslyRespond promptly and accurately with minimal supervision to business requests for advice related to complex contracts and escalate to legal team and others where required Prepare analysis to identify key terms, comparisons to our standard agreements and recommend strategy to business as neededDevelop and maintain templates, standard operating procedures for contracting processes and track associated metricsSupport the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and processes impacting the legal and project management teams

What We are Looking For:

BS/BA in related discipline or significant experience in contract management and/or project management rolesMinimum of five (5) years contract management experience with emphasis on project management related work and preparing/reviewing request for proposals, bid documents, contracts, and change ordersAbility to identify and resolve moderately complex problems and apply problem-solving skillsExperience in applying knowledge of drafting and reviewing contractsAble to understand and explain contractual terms to a lay audience with a focus on interpretation and application of real-world risks and obligationsAptitude for working with and advising project management teams as a subject matter expertAble to execute tasks for multiple ongoing projects simultaneouslyAble to work independently, identify tasks to be done, and maintain productivity without frequent and consistent directionDemonstrates a working knowledge of basic project life cycleDemonstrates ability to apply knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures to commercial contractsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent negotiation skills preferredBilingual in English and French is a plus, but not required
