Contract & Claim Manager [F/M/X]

Job description

We are seeking a Contract & Claim Manager (CCM) to join our centralized Contract & Claim Management team, overseeing the entire life cycle of large investment projects.

Role Overview: As a Contract & Claim Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing relationships with contractors, ensuring the successful execution of contracts, and addressing any issues that arise during the project lifecycle. You will be involved from the initial project stages, including preparing tender and contract documents and negotiating with suppliers, and will hold full responsibility for assigned contracts during the execution phase.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Package Managers and Project Managers on all contractual and commercial matters to ensure project success. Develop and manage project claim strategies in coordination with Project Management. Proactively handle variations and claims in consultation with the project team. Draft and manage contractual and commercial correspondence and documentation towards contractors. Manage contractual risks and disputes effectively and find resolutions. Oversee commercial aspects and documents, including payment deadlines and price adjustments. Ensure timely management of contractual deliverables, focusing on quality and cost control. Address problems with the Package Manager and align on solutions with contractors. Prepare management and status reports, including KPI monitoring. Facilitate communication between contractors and teams, especially in escalation or problem-solving scenarios, to create win-win situations. Follow up on claims and collaborate closely with Project Management and legal departments to resolve disputes. Provide feedback to internal departments, the CCM team, and buyers to prevent future issues (lessons learned). Develop and manage Excel tools for price revisions and other contract-related administration. Contribute to building the department's knowledge base.

Profile Requirements:

Master’s degree in commercial, legal, or technical field (e.g., civil or industrial engineering). Minimum 5 years of experience, including 3-5 years in contract management with a strong background in international partner management. Ability to work independently with a project management mentality and handle internal and external disputes. Strategic vision and ability to integrate overall project objectives into daily tasks. Analytical mindset with a problem-solving orientation, enabling quick and effective results. Strong communication skills, particularly in an international setting, with excellent written English. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Experience:

Advanced skills in Contract and Claim Management and/or Project Management. Background in large projects (turnkey/EPCI/framework contracts) and negotiation experience. Experience with offshore investment projects (e.g., offshore cables, platforms). Knowledge of contractual dispute resolution mechanisms. What can you expect?
