Job Responsibilities/Duties
Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) serves as the tank farm operating contractor at the Hanford Site in Richland, WA. Our mission is to safely store, retrieve, and treat 53 million gallons of legacy radioactive and hazardous waste. This complex and critical work is carried out through a highly integrated, multidisciplinary approach that spans all areas of engineering and science.
In October 2024, the Department of Energy awarded the Hanford Integrated Tank Disposition Contract (ITDC) to Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure, LLC (H2C), a joint venture of BWXT Technical Services Group, Inc., Amentum Environment & Energy, Inc., and Fluor Federal Services, Inc. The 120-day transition from WRPS to H2C began on October 21, 2024, with the final transition date set for February 23, 2025.
To support this transition, we are building a dedicated team for the Contract Closeout Office and are actively seeking professionals at all levels to join us. If you have a sharp eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a passion for tackling complex challenges, we want to hear from you! These positions can range from part time to full time roles with the potential of work-from-home options after three (3) months.
Positions available in the following areas:
Human Resources:
Responsible for developing and implementing HR policies and procedures specific to contract closeout operations. Administers hiring, termination, severance, and benefits processes while managing HR databases to ensure accurate recordkeeping. Provides training and technical support for contract closeout operations, handles disposition of EEO files, employee investigations, labor relations, and National Labor Relations Board charges, and ensures proper archival of closeout records.
Procurement:
Oversees the assignment and closeout of approximately 2,200 subcontract work orders, service requests, leases, insurances, and licenses. Resolves subcontract and audit findings, ensures compliance with FAR/DFAR regulations, and negotiates subcontractor claims. Prepares requests for proposal (RFP) packages and purchase orders while supporting the overall procurement closeout process.
Prime Contracts:
Manages configuration control of the TOC closeout plan, ensuring compliance with FAR and DOE acquisition regulations. Prepares closeout deliverables, notices of completion, and monthly progress reports for senior management. Establishes guidelines for contract file configuration, access protocols, and coordinates closeout correspondence with project management. Supports closeout negotiations and performance incentive reviews.
Property Management:
Develops closeout policies and procedures for government property and records management. Coordinates disposition of operational equipment and assets, ensures proper assignment to custodians, and resolves lost or unfound property issues. Secures and closes out equipment and furniture while ensuring records align with the integrated document management system.
Records Management
Ensures all Tank Operations Contract and closeout records are properly secured in the Integrated Document Management System (IDMS). Execute tasks to identify, locate, catalog, store, protect and make records accessible to the U.S. Department of Energy and the corporate office as appropriate. Performs records management disposition in compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) requirements.
Accounting:
Delivers financial and business management support for closeout operations. Manages accounting processes, financial analysis, and audit functions to meet regulatory requirements. Prepares incurred cost submissions, ensures compliance with tax liabilities, and interfaces with DOE and auditors. Updates disclosure statements as needed and supports the preparation of monthly progress reports for closeout.
Required Qualifications
Grade 19:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in related field and 9 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Grade 20:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in related field and 10 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.
Grade 21:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in related field and 12 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, WRPS takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made within the targeted hiring range posted. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
Hiring Range Minimum: $114,475
Hiring Range Maximum: $174,900
