Job Purpose

The role of Contract Manager on UGL Regional Linx is a critical success factor in protecting UGL Regional Linx’s commercial interests under the OM Deed with TfNSW.

Reporting to the Legal and Commercial Manager, you will be primarily responsible for providing commercial and contractual expertise for assisting with the administration of the contract with the client.


Key Responsibilities

• Analyse, negotiate and settle contractual positions with the client and third parties to achieve strong commercial positions which safeguard UGL’s interests.
• Prepare and manage the submission of claims and variations upstream to the client.
• Prepare and manage complex correspondence with the client and third parties.
• Administering the contract to ensure that all activities, responsibilities and obligations of the contract are met in a timely, accurate, effective and compliant matter.
• Maintaining complete contractual records, correspondence, proposed changes to contracts, warranties, delays, extensions of time and other contract management functions as directed.
• Provide guidance to Project teams on risk management policies and procedures including risk opportunity reporting governance.
• Advise projects, planning, procurement and production departments of contractual rights and obligations in a clear, concise and understandable manner.
• Provide regular, clear briefings, analysis and summaries of complex commercial and contract issues for non-specialist audience and executives.
• Provide direction on co-ordination review of legal position and compliance matters, in conjunction with internal UGL legal team (and, external legal advisors, where appropriate)
• Establish and maintain Contract commercial processes and ensure contractual and commercial rights and obligations are clearly communicated to the project delivery team.


Qualifications

• Degree qualified in either Engineering, Law or Construction Management is preferred but not essential
• Ability to achieve outcomes in an environment of managing complex stakeholder relationships, including key business partners.
• Experience in a contract management role within a projects environment, including negotiation of contracts, contract management and dispute resolution.
• A sound knowledge of project management principles
• Legal training or experience essential.
