As part of the UK&I solar O&M team, the RES Solar Farm Site Maintenance Manager is responsible for the care and custody of over 2,000 acres of land and the cleaning of over 2 million solar panels - and it is an exciting opportunity for a talented candidate who can bring our key values of Passion, Accountability, Collaboration and Excellence to the role. The role is based at the RES office on the outskirts of Exeter and reports to the Head of UK&I Solar and Storage O&M, working alongside an experienced solar farm landscape and environmental management co-ordinator. Equipment, training and the support of the whole RES Group will be provided. Key AccountabilitiesThe overall purpose of the role is to manage the successful delivery and continuous improvement of the following services to the solar farm asset owners, as part of the overall RES operation & maintenance contracts: • Grass cutting and weed control• Grazing management• Hedge cutting• Ditch clearance and drainage system maintenance• Fence and gate maintenance and repair• Rodent control• Minor track repairs• Minor building repairsThe responsibilities and duties of the role are diverse:Requirements capture through review of O&M contracts, site lease, Landscape and Environmental Management Plans, client consultationScreening, prequalification and selection of candidate sub-contractorsScoping and developing draft sub-contractsDeveloping and delivering tender processes, reviewing quotations and negotiating agreementsDeveloping and tracking budgetsLandowner liaisonGaining timely client approval and managing contract administrationRaising Purchase Orders to call off instructions from the sub-contractsReviewing Risk Assessment and Method StatementsReviewing and logging safety and competency documentationScheduling jobs with sub-contractors and RES team membersCo-ordinating set up and issue of permits, and controlling site access proceduresOrganising online and in-person safety inductions and safety monitoring toursAccurately reporting plans, input and outputs of tasks to RES O&M managersInspecting work for adherence to specification and quality standards and raising non-conformancesClosing out work orders ready for invoiceRaising incidents and managing the delivery of HSQE actionsContinuous improvement informed by awareness of market trends and innovationsKnowledgeFamiliarity with Risk Assessment, PUWER, waste disposal, COSHH, pesticide applicationSkillsSupremely organisedCalm multi-tasker and co-ordinatorClear communicatorGreat attention to detailDisciplined adherence to processExperienceSolar farm maintenance experienceAgricultural contracting experienceGrounds maintenance/FM experienceCivils minor works experience (tracks, buildings, fences)Contracting experienceQualificationsIOSH Managing Safely (or SSSTS) qualification, desirableDriving licenseAt RES we celebrate difference as we know it makes our company a great place to work.
