About the Team
The U.S. Federal Legal Team supports Workday’s Go To Market Federal team on a wide range of issues, from contracts and intellectual property to regulatory compliance and risk management. We help our business partners navigate the complex legal landscape and ensure they are operating in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The team provides legal advice and support to help Workday achieve their goals.About the Role
The Contract Manager is responsible for the full lifecycle management of U.S. federal contracts for Workday products and services. This includes developing, negotiating, and administering contracts as well as assisting with compliance.
The Contract Manager will work closely with internal stakeholders, partners, and government officials to ensure contracts are aligned with organizational objectives and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
Contract Development & Negotiation:
Draft and review contract documents, including statements of work and pricing schedules.
Lead negotiations with government customers, and where applicable partners, to achieve favorable contract terms and conditions.
Ensure contracts comply with government procurement rules as well as internal policies and procedures.
Coordinate and collaborate with legal counsel as needed.
Contract Administration:
Manage the execution of contracts, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained.
Track and monitor compliance with contractual obligations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract records in a contract management system.
Identify and mitigate potential contract risks.
Manage contract amendments and renewals.
Stakeholder Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders across various departments.
Communicate effectively with vendors and partners regarding contract performance and issues.
Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on contract-related matters.
Compliance & Reporting:
Assist compliance teams to ensure all contract activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
Prepare regular reports on contract status, performance, and compliance.
Conduct internal audits of contract files to ensure compliance.
Stay up-to-date on changes in contract law and regulations.
Contract Management:
Evaluate contract performance and provide feedback.
Manage customer relationships to ensure successful contract execution.
Address contract performance issues and escalate as needed.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve contract management processes and procedures.
Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in contract management.
About You
Basic Qualifications
7+ years of experience in contract management in the public sector
This position requires a TS/SCI with CI polygraph security clearance. Applicants must already possess or be willing to obtain a valid and active TS/SCI with CI polygraph security clearance
Law degree or Master's degree in a related field
Experience working with the U.S. federal government
Other Qualifications
Strong knowledge of contract law and regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation and agency supplements
Experience with various contract types, including Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity agreements, Task Orders, software agreements, data processing agreements, non-disclosure agreements, etc.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
