Contract Manufacturing Manager

What you'll do:

As a Contract Manufacturing Manager you will serve as the pivotal point of contact between operations and our external manufacturing partners. This position includes working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful production ramp-up, quality control, and cost optimization of new products through our contract manufacturers. This role is also responsible for optimizing the collaboration and workflow between our internal teams and contract manufacturers, ensuring the successful execution of our new product introductions (NPI) and identifying process improvement and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and productivity as it relates to ongoing manufacturing operations. 

How you'll make an impact Build strong relationships with our contract manufacturing partners, by serving as a single point of contact for all operational deliverables that align/meet business objectives. Coordinate NPI deliverables between internal teams and the contract manufacturer, ensuring a smooth transition from design to production. Oversee the execution of manufacturing schedules and production quality to meet the organization’s standards and timelines. Define, develop and maintain project/product schedules, budgets and resource plans for NPI projects through each phase (Scope, Proto, Alpha, Beta) before a launch.  Communicate project status, risks and issues to stakeholders including clear visibility on upcoming workload and resource requirements required to meet deliverables. Define scope of work required by contractors (e.g., Design work, manufacturing requirements, volume expectations). Lead the contract manufacturer participation in managing and meeting the scope of work expectations Communicate and resolve any issues that arise in the manufacturing process promptly. Champion all communication with the contract manufacturers for the Operations organization and ensure correct internal participation. Develop and maintain thorough standard operating procedures (SOPs) for NPI processes. Drive continuous improvement in NPI processes and procedures. Implement best practices in contract manufacturing integration to leverage economies of scale, reduce costs, and ensure quality consistency. Provide leadership, guidance and mentorship to team members. What you'll bring to the role Bachelor in a related field: Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Project Management... +5 years of experience in similar roles, related to product innovation, operations or a related field. Previous experience in the following areas:  Managing manufacturing projects, with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget. Applying methodologies such as APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process). Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies. Enterprise Resource Planning systems such as Propel.  Motivating and inspiring cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. Effectively communicating project status, issues and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels. Analyzing data to identify root cause of issues. Developing solutions to drive projects to completion. Applying regulatory requirements and industry standards. Specialized knowledge in: Project Management: Understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices to effectively plan, execute and monitor manufacturing projects. Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, technologies, and industry standards to ensure project feasibility, optimization, and adherence to quality standards. Leadership and Team Management: Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, delegate tasks, resolve conflicts and foster collaboration to achieve project objectives. Communication and Stakeholder Management: Strong communication skills to effectively communicate project goals, progress, and requirements of stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally. Problem-Solving and Decision Making: Capacity to identify project risks, analyze complex decisions to mitigate risks, resolve issues, and keep projects on track.
