About the Role & Team

This key role sits within the Legal team, which supports Disney’s business activities in Türkiye. The Contract Specialist will join the legal team, which handles a large number of contracts, contract amendments and legal matters. The role requires working under the supervision of senior attorneys and will report to the Head of Legal.

This role will require you to be onsite 4 days a week with one day working from home.

What You Will Do

Supporting the team for the preparation of licensing, acquisition and distribution agreements of scripted, non-scripted and factual programs and formats, including without limitation broadcast, digital, advertising sales, format sales, music licenses, marketing and other commercial contracts

Review of commercial advertisements, product placements and advise the sales and commercial teams on legal issues regarding TV/linear and digital advertising

Prepare amendment agreements, suspension/termination letters, responses to petitions and official letters, NDAs, MoUs, term sheets as and when requested, for review by team lawyers

Preparing for and administering execution of contracts, including liaising with clients where necessary, assist with contract and related enquiries from internal departments

Providing status updates and reports

Provide legal research support to the team lawyers on a variety of matters including but not limited to intellectual property law, audio visual media law/Law no 6112, data protection law, privacy, corporate, administrative law

Complete all relevant documents within agreed timescales

Providing general legal support to the team and maintaining the contract database

Work effectively with departmental colleagues on a cross-functional and where necessary cross-territory basis

Adhere to defined Disney business processes and best practices

Develop knowledge of the product slate and work environment

Required Qualifications & Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail both in English and Turkish

This role would generally suit lawyers qualified to practice in Turkiye; graduates who have completed and are completing their mandatory internship. However this is a general guideline only, and we are happy to hear from anyone who can demonstrate the passion, necessary skills and knowledge in order to fulfil the role

Experience of contract administration preferable

Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database skills essential

Experience of working in legal environment (law firm or in-house department) preferable

Experience of drafting, training and experience in contract law is beneficial
