This position would require a hybrid work schedule of 3 days per week onsite and 2 days remote out of our Brentwood, TN office location.

The Contract Specialist identifies, obtains, negotiates and implements professional, hospital and ancillary provider contracts for inmate medical care and serves as a communication link for prospective providers. Responsible for the oversight of daily contract administration, network development and provider relations. Provides guidance related to organizational policies and procedures.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The incumbent should be able to perform all of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the job performance requirements.
Reviews provider contracting activities to ensure efficiency and maintain compliance with the business unit’s policies and standards, government laws and regulations.Supports new business launch in diverse markets while considering individual market circumstances, the provider community, budgeting constraints and available resources. Ensures provider network includes an appropriate distribution of provider specialties.Supports development activities for the recruitment and contracting of provider networks in new and prospective markets, and existing market expansions.Monitors network performance, recommends business solutions to address process and quality gaps, and communicates network strategy and planning. Serves as liaison to contracted providers to ensure compliance with contract specifications and resolution of issues, identifies and negotiates revisions as necessary.Establishes and maintains strong business relationships with hospitals, physician groups, and ancillary providers.Provides analysis of all data gathered through research or negotiations. Performs necessary data analytics to support contracting decisions. Provides management with detailed analysis of contract reviews to assist in negotiations, contracting decisions, and improvement opportunities to reach financial goals.Domestic U.S. travel may be required.Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is required.Two years of experience in a combination of provider contracting, provider network development or provider relations required.Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Experience in commercial insurance contracting, and in negotiating hospital, large physician groups, and ancillary service agreements preferred. Travel within the U.S. is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required. Minimum Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
