Contract Strategist, US Radiology
Reporting into the Dynamic Squad lead, the Contract Strategist will be a key member of the Dynamic Squad serving US Strategic Accounts. The Contract Strategist will be responsible for partnering with the Customer and Product Squads to tailor national contracting strategies at the account level, generating custom contract strategy and structure, driving pricing and terms development, and providing contract negotiation support and administration.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Contract Strategist, US Radiology, are to:
Custom Contract and Pricing Strategy Development
In partnership with the Strategic Account Manager (SAM), lead the development of custom contract strategies and tactics in alignment with business objectives, customer objectives and financial goals;Coordinate with Product Squads to define competitive priorities and inform national contracting tactics based upon market developments and customer insights.Contract Negotiation Support
Interface directly with customer to drive financial negotiations in line with contract strategy, in partnership with the SAM and Customer Squad AGM;Interpret, analyze, draft and negotiate proposed complex contract terms and conditions and price concessions to determine if such terms align with the customer’s requirements and uphold Bayer’s legal and compliance guidance.Contract Analytical/Financial Support
Coordinate the development of financial models that utilize data and assumptions to create pre-deal scenarios that can inform pricing and deal/no-deal decisions; Develop recommended contract and pricing / discount structures and terms based on financial analyses and contract opportunities; Develop account controls and contracting guardrails (e.g., compliance tiers) based on external and internal data analyses, and determine appropriate rebate and pricing tiers.Contract Execution and Administration Support
Shape, manage and maintain the contracting cycle from stakeholder request through final execution including responding to request for proposals, contract drafting, redlining, negotiations, approvals, execution, and maintenance;Collaborate with internal stakeholders to secure and document all necessary approvals; Collaborate with the SAM to drive contract compliance and proactively assess executed agreements for insights that support business and customer objectives.External Insight Generation and Internal Coordination
Provide subject matter expertise to internal stakeholders regarding evolving industry trends around new and innovative contracting, and their implications on Bayer contract strategies;Collaborate with functional teams to eliminate process gaps, and apply best practices to build concise, consistent, effective, and compliant agreements;Ensure customer insight feedback loop to Product Squads regarding competitive intelligence and other developments that inform future national strategies.WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Marketing, Business Administration, Accounting/ Finance or related field;Solid baseline knowledge of the U.S. Healthcare environment required; Experience developing and implementing policies and procedures and assessing and implementing contracting best practices; deep understanding of evolving trends in contracting, contract negotiations, including innovation and risk sharing;Experience building financial models and pricing analyses;Experience with customer relationship management, account management, and negotiation;Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization;Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills, detail oriented, with the ability to work independently and adapt quickly to a changing business environment; Demonstrated initiative, creativity, strategic, and analytical capabilities, and ability to work effectively in complex, rapidly changing environments;Ability to work cross-functionally, partner, influence and build consensus with stakeholders to achieve results; Proficient with standard office software applications (MS Word, Excel/PowerPoint, DocuSign); Proven track record of achieving all assigned goals while maintaining compliance with all Bayer policies and standards.Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant industry experience;Experience in US Med Device / Pharma / Healthcare industry, with experience in sales, marketing, financial analysis, contracting or pricing preferred;Proficiency in contract management systems and tools is preferred;Basic understanding of Radiology workflows preferred.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $115,776 to $173,665. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
