Summary Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) mission is to lead the DoD in finance and accounting by ensuring the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information. Who may apply: This announcement is open to all US citizens. Responsibilities Serve as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR), monitoring the terms and conditions of multiple service contracts. Ensures all maintenance work orders are processed through the Army Corps of Engineers and are completed. Prepares written cost estimates on behalf of the Contracting Office (CO). Maintains records/files to document and describe contractor’s performance; ensures they are of a quality and content sufficient enough to assist and defend the Government in any pre and post award protests, litigations, suits, disputes, and claims. Perform project officer duties on telephony project, gathering requirements for Columbus site and ensuring local conversion of phone system. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-07) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized Experience is defined as: experience assisting in the management of projects. This includes performing project estimates and budget submittals. Examples of Specialized Experience include: Assisting/monitoring the terms and conditions of multiple service contracts in accordance with applicable regulations; preparing written cost estimates; and performing project estimates and budget submittals. Paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience. Education Substitution of Education for Experience: Two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education, Master's or equivalent graduate degree, may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. If you are using education to substitute for the specialized experience, you must submit transcripts at the time you apply. To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (http://www2.ed.gov/admins/finaid/accred/index.html). Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be used to substitute for the specialized experience requirement. Additional Information Moving expenses will not be paid. The Security Designation will vary and dependent upon position and may require a secret clearance or higher.
