The ABS On-Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the construction activities of the selected vessels at the shipyard. This role ensures compliance with IACS class shipbuilding requirements and upholds the highest quality and safety standards throughout the construction process.
What You Will Do:
Supervise new construction activities to ensure adherence to project specifications and shipbuilding requirements. Conduct regular and random patrols of the shipyard to monitor ongoing construction activities and provide oversight. Utilize sound judgment and industry best practices to evaluate the quality and safety of construction processes. Perform witnessing and inspections based on the scope of work defined in the project proposal Identify and report any non-conformance issues to the Client immediately for prompt resolution. Collaborate with ABS Inspectors to ensure thorough inspection of the construction work. Maintain documentation related to supervision and inspection activities for accountability and traceability. Promote a culture of safety and quality within the shipyard.What You Will Need:
Bachelor’s degree in marine engineering, Naval Architecture, or previous solid experience in shipbuilding supervision or marine construction. Excellent observational and communication skills. Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance. Certification from a recognized body (e.g., ABS, Lloyd’s Register) is a plus.Work Environment: The ABS On-Site Supervisor will work primarily on-site at the shipyard, requiring the ability to navigate various construction environments and engage with construction teams effectively.
