We are looking for a Commissioning and Qualification (C&Q) Engineer (Small Equipment/Commercial Off The Shelf Equipment (COTS) who is detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative to join us as a Contractor in our Genesis team in Braine-l'Alleud, Belgium.

About the Role 

As a COTS C&Q Engineer contractor for UCB, you will lead the C&Q portion of projects, ensuring activities are completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with system requirements, specifications, and project guidelines. You will act as the C&Q Subject Matter Expert, providing guidance and managing all C&Q activities from design to execution and summary report approval.

Who You Will Work With 

You will work closely with internal and external partners, including suppliers, to ensure effective and timely completion of C&Q activities. You will also interact with various stakeholders to address project workload and assess the required staff/resources needed.

What You Will Do 

• You draft and review C&Q documents, ensuring compliance with VMP and SLIA.

• You manage supplier and all C&Q activities for the system(s).

• You drive verification testing, protocol execution, and troubleshoot as required.

• You plan, track, and report C&Q status and risks/issues.

• You ensure safe and coordinated start-up of equipment/systems.

• You generate and review change controls related to C&Q.

• You ensure relevant training for personnel performing C&Q activities.

• You assist in developing User Requirement Specifications (URS) and Quality Risk Assessments.

Interested? For this role, we are looking for the following education, experience, and skills

 • Technical qualification at the third level or equivalent in Engineering.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with C&Q in International CAPEX projects. • Extensive knowledge of C&Q for Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology projects.

• Strong understanding of a risk-based approach.

• Experience with Post OQ activities is preferred.

• Knowledge of safety, GMP, and environmental regulatory requirements.

• Strong communication and leadership skills.

• Fluent in English.
