Reporting To: VP Commercial Counsel

Location: London or Southampton Office including hybrid working

The role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced contract specialist to implement best practices and high standards of service. You will address the growing demands of our customers, partners, and suppliers by providing expert advice during contract formation, review, and negotiation.
In addition to this, you will support projects with contract management activities, including handling changes, claims, and legal correspondence, ensuring alignment with the company’s commercial strategy, policies, goals, processes, and guidelines.

Experience / Qualifications:
Qualified Lawyer with experience in contracting under English law. Experience in international contracting (understanding of international supply of goods and services, including supply chain management). Awareness of legal and regulatory matters and contract management across the whole contract lifecycle. Awareness of risks associated with global operations and turn-key type technology/ engineering contracts within the maritime and/ or energy sector (EPC, EPCI, I&T Data Management ideal). Legal and contract analysis offering commercially sound recommendations in a timely fashion. Understanding of the importance of compliance and risk mitigation, ability to negotiate key contract terms and offer alternative solutions to allow closing gaps in support of sales and project teams. Verify and ensure enforceability of contracts. Interaction with senior management and stakeholders (internally and externally). Ability to draft, review, and negotiate contract terms and conditions independently. Analytical and problem-solving abilities. Negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Understanding risk and compliance. Quick, informed decision-making, balancing risks, and benefits. Good financial and commercial awareness. Efficient process management and timely completion of tasks and working under pressure. Flexibility to adapt to high demands of contracting and changing priorities. Organisational, relationship-building, communication, and time management skills. Innovative solutions for contract management improvement. Meticulous attention to detail and diligence. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other tools (CML ideal). Experience in managing contract amendments and renewals. Capability to provide training on contract management and legal compliance. Benefits:
