We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive faculty and staff. **The Department of Pediatrics has an outstanding opportunity for a** **_Temporary_** **(12-month duration),** **_Part-Time_** **,** **_Hourly_** **Contracts Analyst** . This position will function in a hybrid capacity and estimated 20 hours per week with flexible work schedule. This position contributes to the growth and success of the Pediatric department by performing professional project management, accounting, and analytical functions to support the clinical contract activities of the University of Washington Department of Pediatrics. **Duties and Responsibilities:** Contract Analysis and Development • Manage the Department’s contract workflow for developing and implementing professional services agreements for clinical services (aka “clinical contracts”). Ensure that Department, division, and partner-institution stakeholders have input into the contract development process as appropriate. • Work with the UWSOM Business Unit using contract templates to draft contract terms that are consistent with Department policies and articulate the Department’s goals for the agreement. • Work with other members of the Clinical Finance team to develop and then consistently apply cost calculation models determining contract fees, including external agreement overhead fees. • Ensure timely processing and execution of contracts. Monitor contract expiration dates and initiate the contract renewal process. • Work with Department finance leadership and the UWSOM Business Unit in order to clarify and resolve contractual issues. • Provide expertise in working with contracts, draft business terms, understand standard legal terms, and comprehend the negotiation process as a whole. • Work with CUMG finance and Department Financial Accounting teams to issue invoices for contract fees and ensure that funds are received and posted correctly. Other Duties • Attend team meetings and other duties as assigned. **Minimum Qualifications:** • BA/BS degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Health Care Administration, or related field and minimum of five (5) years’ experience in hospital, physician group, or health plan contracting or hospital finance OR equivalent education/experience. **Desirable Qualifications:** • M.B.A., Master’s Degree in Health Management, or related field. • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, customers and colleagues. • Strong customer service skills. • Able to establish and rearrange constantly changing work priorities; set boundaries, prioritize, and meet timelines. • Excellent communication/interpersonal and organizational skills. • Contracts Experience and familiarity of legal terms and methodologies–as well as SCH Contract Terms and Conditions. • Budgeting Experience. • Able to work independently, with minimal direct supervision, and as a team member. • Knowledge of various MS Office applications; particularly MS Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. • Attention to detail. **Application Process:** The application process for UW positions may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
