Contracts Counsel, MEA

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Reviews, drafts and negotiates agreements and transaction documents in compliance with applicable policies and legal and ethical standards, under the supervision (as required) of more senior Contract Services staff, including in:   Responding, within established guidelines, to customers’ RFP/RFQs, vendor qualification documents and contractual requests;   Drafting and negotiating with customers, appropriate contractual language to reflect the business interests and policies of the parties;  Takes the Contracts Lead role on:  Less complex international and multi-BU project contracts;  Less complex frame agreements (multi-BU & -WA);  Takes the Contracts Lead role (including the Global Contracts Lead role on GSAP accounts) on more complex projects and frame agreements as experience develops;  Interfaces with customers, members of the legal team and other Emerson stakeholders to bring deals to closure;  Analyses business, financial, and legal risks;  Researches information on existing agreements and contractual programs, assisting with analysis and compiling data for reports;  Provides contract-related guidance to Sales, Project Management and other collaborators;  Participates in the approval process to assist business owners in making informed decisions and secure appropriate approvals.

For This Role, You Will Need:

2-4 years of work experience in a contracts-related role  Bachelor’s Degree in related field  Intermediate MS Office skills  Excellent oral and written English language skills   Excellent negotiation skills  Extensive knowledge of Contract law & principles  Commercial provisions such as warranty, liquidated damages/penalties, payment & freight terms, documentary credits and bank guarantees/sureties

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Completion of WorldCC Contract and Commercial Management (CCM) Training Program to Practitioner Level strongly preferred French or Arabic language skills
