Contracts Manager, Global Entertainment Legal
Description Amazon Music is looking for a talented Contracts Manager to join our dynamic Legal team to help support our growing music and entertainment businesses. We're looking for someone who can identify and implement process improvements, enjoys working with different teams, and loves the challenge of learning new subject matters and issues. The successful candidate will possess the ability to work efficiently and collaboratively with peers, team members and other stakeholders throughout the company; complete a high volume of tasks and projects quickly and with little guidance; prioritize urgent projects and issues effectively; take action without having perfect information; think creatively and work cross functionally to solve problems. One of the primary functions of this role will be to help scale music licensing by cross collaborating with all entertainment legal and business affairs teams and their external support groups to harmonize and track workflows, forms, and positions. The candidate will also have great attention to detail while still meeting tight deadlines, have great organizational skills and demonstrate the ability to be flexible as needed to achieve goals. Key job responsibilities Your responsibilities will include reviewing, drafting and negotiating a variety of third-party contractual relationships, including music licenses and templates, services agreements, releases, SOWs and licenses; utilizing internal processes to track transactions from beginning to end; troubleshooting processes and systems; coordinating with principal business partners; and advising on legal issues across our teams. Basic Qualifications • 5+ years of contracts management, leading contract negotiations and redlining/drafting contracts within a law firm or legal department • Analyze, track and consolidate music rights, licenses, templates and issues across Amazon’s entertainment divisions • Develop and maintain: contract templates, company positions, standard operating procedures for contracting processes and track associated metrics, and other legal resources • Ability to invent, simplify and improve legal and contracting processes impacting our legal team and the businesses we support Preferred Qualifications • In-house contracts management experience • Music industry experience • Fluency in the MS Office Suite, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat preferred • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams • Experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating the legal terms of a broad range of standard contracts Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $146,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
