Position SummaryThe Contract Specialist II works closely with corporate leadership to develop, negotiate and execute moderately complex contracts in a timely manner in accordance with policies and standards surrounding contract management and the contract renewal process. This position can work a hybrid or remote work schedule after initial training.
Must be local to Iowa to work onsite 2 days/week in Ankeny, IA.Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited toReview, draft, negotiate and coordinate the completion of contracts for payers which include various agencies, health plans and/or government agenciesHandles moderately complex issues and problems and uses discretion to escalate as needed Work in partnership with leadership ensuring contracting and other collateral information meets the needs of contracting elementsManage the RFP draft response process, completing, submitting and tracking all responses as they are dueAccurately input and maintain contract documentation and data in company databaseStay up to date with healthcare regulations and review contractual language to ensure complianceRequired Skills and ExperienceAssociates degree in healthcare or business, or completion of a paralegal program or other related field, or equivalent experience2-5 years previous contracting, paralegal experience in a regulated environment, preferably healthcare or managed careExperience negotiating, drafting, and implementing moderately complex contracts for managed care plans, health systems, or government agenciesStrong organizational skills along with excellent oral and written communication abilityFlexibility to be a hands-on playerWork independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizationsDetail-oriented with problem-solving skillsInteract professionally with other employees, customers and suppliersAbove average computer, organizational and follow-up skills: Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, CRM Sales databasePreferred Skills and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in healthcare or business, or completion of a paralegal program or other related fieldPhysical RequirementsRepetitive motions that include the wrists, hands and/or fingersSedentary work that primarily involves sitting, remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periodsVisual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusCompany Overview
