About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Control Management Director in Central Control Programs to lead front line testing for the Wholesale Group, which includes Commercial Banking (CB), Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) and Wealth & Investment Management (WIM) lines of business.

This role is part of the Central Evidence Based Control Evaluation (EBCE) team that oversees the EBCE program across Wells Fargo. We are looking for a leader who brings prior control design and operating effectiveness assessment experience to help manage the EBCE program. This leader will collaborate with multiple teams across Wells Fargo to implement policies, procedures, and training to support the EBCE program. This is a leadership role with accountability to drive program effectiveness, collaboration across Wholesale Group EBCE Testing teams, and influence change with key partners including second line testing, Audit, Risk and Compliance.

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​In this role, you will:

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Lead and manage a global team performing end-to-end control evaluations for all lines of business in the Wholesale Group, including the development, maintenance and execution of control evaluation test scripts and evaluation strategies, evaluation of control design and performance, ensuring control evaluations are completely timely within established deadlines, meet established quality standards, and are documented and reported appropriately per Policy and procedures.

Confirm control deficiencies discovered during the completion of the control evaluation are accurately and properly documented. Manage the identified control deficiencies with the business and other key stakeholders to determine next steps.

Lead and/or engage in strategic initiatives to identify and execute actions needed to achieve the target state.

Partner with Front Line Testing Program Control Executive, peers, and broader stakeholder group on continuous improvement of the EBCE program and plans to support the target state.

Expertly build constructive and effective relationships, including partnerships with line of business including control owners, Business Control Management, Business Aligned Compliance Oversight, Operational Risk Business Officer, the broader RCSA program, second line testing function, and other required business and functional units.

Represent Control Evaluation team and interface internally with business leaders, Legal, Audit, Independent Risk Management and externally with third party service providers, regulators, and industry partners on risk related topics.

Manage and direct a global Control Management team, including training/upskilling and performance management.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of Risk Management or Business Controls experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

4+ years of Management experience

Desired Qualifications

Experience working in or supporting Commercial Banking, Corporate & Investment Banking and/or Wealth & Investment Management.

Expert understanding of enterprise risk management framework including risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics and governance.

Ability to effectively manage and build relationships within the Control Management function and with business partners.

Ability to create solutions in a dynamic environment with complex risk and control related environment and articulate sound proposals to key stakeholders to influence and drive timely decision making.

Demonstrated negotiation skills, especially when partnering with senior management, including the willingness to question decisions and escalate issues, where necessary

Ability to analyze, problem solve with demonstrated excellence at identifying stakeholders, understanding needs, and driving decision- making/resolution through a consensus building approach.

Ability to manage change and operate independently and collaboratively.

Effective communicator, both orally and in writing, able to ask well-crafted questions and present ideas in a clear and compelling manner.

Ability to translate complex information into a simple, executive-ready story board and message on paper.

Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with an ability to synthesize data from a variety of sources and deliver results quickly.

Experience in building and managing teams, including developing and mentoring managers and providing strong, proactive leadership.

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$173,300.00 - $359,900.00
