Control Electronics Design Specialist

Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid working)

As the Control Electronics Design Specialist provides expertise to deliver electronic and electrical designs for the entire development process. Conceptional design through detail design, prototypes through volume manufacture, initial integration through qualification of airworthy/certified for wide range of gas turbine engines. You will collaborate with a multidiscipline project team on the electrical infrastructure, perform engineering analysis, generate detail electronic designs, create engineering drawings/documents and partner with suppliers. In this role, the candidate ensures that all electronic products meet all program requirements by providing technical mentoring and leadership to the rest of team. You may be involved at any stage of a project including the initial brief for a concept, the design and development stage, testing of prototypes and the final manufacture and implementation of a new product or system. In this role, you will travel up to 25% between Indianapolis and West Lafayette, IN as needed for work.

Key Accountabilities:

Providing technical oversight and direction in the electronics circuit design and development process for new product developmentEngage in technical, manufacturing and supply chain issues and opportunities to enable quick decision makingDefine the electronics test plans and test methods, review and approve the electronics design and test resultsEnsure quality of output through internal gate reviews and other appropriate processesSupport design, analysis, and test of electronics propulsion systems and components to include requirements capture, architecture, schematic capture, design analysis and implementation of printed circuit boards.Lab testing and integration of complex electrical components, sensors, test equipment

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in electronics design, ORMaster's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in electronics design, ORPhD in in Electronics/Electrical EngineeringIn order to be considered for this role, you must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

7+ years of experience in circuit designStrong technical leadership, people management and project management skillsExperience with new product introduction (NPI), change management, and risk management processesRoot cause analysis and other problem-solving techniques with experience in embedded electronics design in aerospace or other industries requiring functional safety applicationsExperience with schematic capture tools: Allegro-Cadence/Altium DesignerKnowledge of RTCA/DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 environmental testing standardsExperience with safety critical control systems (DAL A-C), high integrity control solutionsKnowledge of RTCA/DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 environmental testing standards
