The **Control Engineer** is responsible for providing engineering support to Manufacturing. The main responsibility of the Controls Engineer is to focus on continuous improvement and sustainability of equipment and processes in the assembly and molding departments. The ideal candidate should work well with large amounts of data, have a good mechanical understanding of automation systems, can manage small projects independently, possess a solid understanding of technical system and understands the importance of meeting deadlines to support larger objectives. + Equipment diagnostics and design through the use of PLC and HMI. Apply broad knowledge of technical principles and practices to define appropriate system concepts and to design systems that are fit-for-purpose in terms of safety, performance and reliability. + High level of understanding in electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic system schematic diagrams + Conduct ongoing analyses of products and processes to identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiencies. + Test, troubleshoot and debug automation systems utilizing internal test scripts and customer provided factory acceptance test protocols with existing, installed standard products. + Create and edit operation and troubleshooting manuals for automation systems. + Lead/Participate in the coordination and implementation of capital projects (Project Management) + Support Engineering with costing, electrical and controls concepts for new applications. + Meet project budget, schedule, and deadlines + Investigate and install new methods, layouts, equipment, and process analysis that improve overall operation of the plant. + Develop and implement work instructions and standardization of processes. + Troubleshoot processes which are prone to be frequent or major production problems. + Provides technical support to manufacturing, engineering, quality, , and management as needed. + Will participate in “special projects” assignments are required. + Comply with OSHA Safety and Health regulations, along with other federal, state, and local regulations regarding environmental, industrial, and electrical mandates. **QUALIFICATIONS:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Controls, Manufacturing, Plastics, or Mechanical). + A minimum of 4+ years related work experience with automation and controls Engineering in a high-volume manufacturing environment required. + Allen-Bradley PLC experience is required. + Ability to read and understand complex instructions such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. + Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. + Ability to carry out detailed, complex oral or written instructions. + Ability to apply problem solving techniques to address complex issues. + Must have good communication skills and excellent listening skills. + Computer experience is preferred with knowledge of Microsoft office. + Novice electrical, pneumatic and mechanical knowledge needed. + Experience with 3D printing, or willingness to learn. + Ability to use Cad (SOLIDWORKS) design simple fixtures/brackets is preferred, but not required.
