**GENERAL DUTIES**
I.T. Senior Associates perform highly complex professional work in technology-related disciplines. While areas of specialization vary, typically I.T. Senior Associates perform a range of work in development/programming, communications, technical support, or similar functions depending on the needs of the Information Technology area to which they report. Work tasks include diagnosing, evaluating, overseeing and resolving highly complex projects. They have wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment and may serve in lead roles on complex programs or projects, and/or serve as a direct supervisor of a unit or group.
I.T. Senior Associates should demonstrate mastery of one or more technology-related disciplines, decision-making ability in situations related to those disciplines, and be able to serve as a resource in these areas. They may contribute to decisions on I.T. policies and technical standards.

**CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION**
The Office of Computing and Information Services (CIS) at the City University of New York (CUNY) supports the IT and telecommunications needs of CUNY's 26 colleges. CIS supports enterprise IT and applications and identifies and develops new technologies that advance the University's core mission. CIS operates and maintains the University's network, the enterprise Data Center, and the CUNY Service Desk, and manages the processes of safeguarding the University’s IT assets and maintaining the security posture by operating the CUNY Security Operations Center (SOC). Additionally, CIS develops disaster recovery plans for business continuity and supports the CUNYfirst Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution that integrates student administration, financial management, and human resources operations across CUNY’s 26 colleges. Lastly, CIS provides strategic and operational IT leadership to all CUNY campuses.
Reporting to the Enterprise Workload Automation Manager, the Control-M Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting automated batch processing across CUNY's IT systems, including CUNYfirst. This role requires expertise in BMC Control-M tools, with hands-on experience managing batch processes in dynamic and enterprise-level environments.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
+ Configures, creates, and maintains automated workflows using BMC Control-M suite.
+ Standardizes Control-M processes across departments to ensure efficiency and consistency.
+ Monitors and troubleshoots batch processing workflows, providing support to internal teams.
+ Collaborates with stakeholders to design and implement automation strategies for current and future batch processes.
+ Develops, tests, and migrates Control-M jobs across non-production and production environments.
+ Performs code review for Control-M jobs to ensure compliance with defined standards and best practices.
+ Manages and maintains Control-M environments, including installations, configurations, and upgrades of Control-M components (EM, Servers, and Agents).
+ Provides day-to-day support for related applications, including PeopleSoft and other CUNY systems.
+ Proactively identifies and resolves technical issues, escalating to engineering teams as necessary.
+ Documents processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guides to enhance team knowledge and system reliability.
+ Stays current with industry trends and emerging technologies to improve Control-M capabilities.
**NOTES** :
1. Until further notice, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
2. **An appointment to this Competitive title/position in the Classified Civil Service Title Series will be made with a Provisional status. Employees in provisional status must pass a competitive civil service examination and be appointed from a civil service list to remain in the title/position.**
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
1. High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
2. An equivalent of ten years of experience post-high school that can be met by one of the following: ten years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology related position; an Associate's degree plus eight years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus six years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position
3. Demonstrated English Language proficiency
4. A Motor Vehicle Driver's license, valid in New York State, may be required for some, but not all positions.
This title has three levels. In addition to the minimum qualifications above, To qualify for Levels 2 and 3, additional qualifications, such as education, experience, or certification relevant to the area of specialization are required.
**OTHER QUALIFICATIONS**
Preferred:
+ 5+ years of hands-on experience with Control-M Desktop/Manager (version 9.0+).
+ 10+ years of experience in IT, with experience in batch automation and system integration.
+ Demonstrative expertise with Batch Impact Manager features, including forecasting, workload optimization, and predictive analytics.
+ Experience installing and upgrading Control-M environments in Linux and Windows ecosystems.
+ Experience with cloud-based Control-M solutions or hybrid environments.
+ Strong scripting experience in languages such as Python, Perl, PHP or PowerShell.
+ Demonstrated ability to mentor team members and provide technical leadership.
+ Excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
+ Experience in implementing secure file transfers (MFT) and integrating them into batch workflows.
+ Working knowledge of modern DevOps practices and tools.
+ Certification in Control-M or relevant IT disciplines is a plus.
**COMPENSATION**
The current salaries based on level are as follows:
Level 1: **$91,298**
Level 2: **$99,599**
Level 3: **$109,560**
**NOTE:**
**Following new contract negotiations with the DC 37 union, the new salary rates for the IT Senior Associate title and their respective levels will be as listed below; said rates are effective June 01, 2024 and will be implemented effective January 23, 2025 (state payroll) and 01/31/2025 (city payroll).**
Level 1: **$101,762**
Level 2: **$111,013**
Level 3: **$122,116**
