Department Overview
We evaluate whether controls are well-designed and operating effectively. Our approach is tailored around Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and other risk programs and it supports proactive risk management in alignment with the Risk Management Framework. We perform evidence-based controls evaluations and document our outcomes based on applicable policies and standards.
About the Role
The controls evaluation team performs evidence based control testing which may involve sampling and inspecting evidence to assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls and whether they are mitigating the assigned risks.
This role will help in strengthening the business control environment through proactive evaluation of controls, identification of issues and by providing consultative guidance to the front line business groups. For this role, we are looking for a candidate with good understanding of risk management, operational risk and control evaluation/ testing methodologies with an ability to assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls for medium to high complex processes. The role requires engagement with multiple stakeholders, providing credible challenge and an ability to identify and report potential control gaps in the business processes.
In this role, you will:
Participate in mitigating current and emerging risk exposures associated with the activities and operations of the assigned business group, and identify opportunity for process improvements within the scope of defined business control responsibilitiesReview and analyze basic business challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternativesDevelop and implement risk monitoring, risk reporting processes, and controls while evaluating and reporting results where necessaryPresent recommendations for resolving complex situations and exercise independent judgment while developing Control Management functional area expertiseProvide support in the interpretation of policy, guidelines, and governance programs as front line liaison to Independent Risk Management areaCollaborate and consult with Control Management team and key stakeholders, including internal customers
