About This Role
CAE is supporting the delivery of training for the P-8A Poseidon programme. We are looking to hire a Console Operator (Con Op )Acoustics (Ac) to join our existing team.
In this role you will provide scenario control and perform a ‘white force’ role for training sessions at the Atlantic Building, RAF Lossiemouth. You will oversee the operation of the consoles and provide critical support directly to the RAF.
These roles would ex-Weapon System Operators (WSOps) Acoustics looking to maintain their connection with the maritime patrol fraternity, ensuring the military personnel train to the highest standards.
The Console Operator role involves:
Facilitation of individual and whole crew training events, including:
OCU applied training
Front line continuation training
Facilitating training on console operation to RAF personnel
‘White force’ role playing
Supporting team and collective training through the DOTC and other networks
Act as ‘game controller’ during Weapons Tactics Trainer (WTT) and Weapon Systems Trainer (WST) training events
Brief and debrief WTT/WST training events
The ideal candidate would have:
Military background with experience in maritime patrol operations
Ex-RAF/ RN WSO or WSOp
Direct experience with the specified assets or similar high fidelity training devices to a standard that allows effective facilitation of training events
