Job Description
Join a highly motivated, dynamic, multi-disciplined team to design and develop world-class automation solutions. You will be responsible for contributing to machine concepts, designing control software, integrating software with electrical and mechanical systems, developing processes, and installing machines at customer sites worldwide. This role involves working with leading-edge technologies and processes utilizing PLCs, PCs, robotics, motion controllers, vision systems, lasers, and other controllers.
ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop software programs (PLC and/or PC based) specific to customer and project requirements.Commission control systems at our facility, during system integration, and at the customer’s site during installation.Travel to customer and supplier sites to perform installation, commissioning, and training duties.Select, test, and integrate hardware and software components such as robots, analog devices, motion controllers, sensors, vision systems, and lasers.Collaborate with other team members to continuously improve methods of integrating controls technology for enhanced safety, functionality, and cost reduction.Ensure adherence to labor and material budgets as well as scheduled delivery dates.Work with customers, project managers, designers, toolmakers, and electricians to solve problems and provide complete, functional automation systems.Thoroughly test machine functionality to verify software program completeness.Provide accurate documentation for each project.Advise customers on solving technical problems.Provide customer training specific to their current project, including machine operation, programming principles, and program structure.Essential SkillsControl system design and system integration.PLC programming, including Rockwell Allen Bradley PLC and coding in ladder logic.Experience with vision systems, sensors, and lasers.Ability to develop control programs such as PLC, HMI, and Servo's.Debug and test machines.Experience with motion controllers.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to travel internationally if needed (10-15% of the year).Strong problem-solving skills.Excellent documentation and communication skills.Work Environment
This role involves a mix of working in an office and on a production floor. The dress code is business casual. You will be part of a large team of up to 60+ engineers, broken into smaller teams ranging from 2-6 people. The working hours are from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with a flexible start and finish. You may be expected to work 10-15 hours of overtime in some weeks. You will have access to a consultant program, 30-60-90 day performance reviews, and opportunities to work on local projects within the client's portfolio.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.
