This position has been designated as On-Site in our La Crosse, WI facility and is a safety-sensitive role.

Job Summary: 

Trane Technologies is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer II – Control Systems Engineer in La Crosse, WI. In this role, you will coordinate, organize and supervise production process methods and engineering activities that enable production. This includes sustaining engineering, new product launch processes and continuous improvement activities. The position is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining production processes to drive quality and efficiency and to develop manufacturing plans which improve operations competitiveness.

Responsibilities:

Drives engineering principles and discipline through mentoring, training and project reviews including: PFMEA, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Dynamic Control Plans (DCP), Lean Tools, Project Management and Simultaneous EngineeringManages, develops and improves manufacturing standards including: machine capability, process maps, set-ups, quality controls, tooling and fixture records, routings and cycle timesDesign, develop, and implement control systems for industrial automation projectsDevelop and program PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.Create and maintain HMI (Human-Machine Interface) applicationsPerform system integration, testing, and troubleshooting of control systemsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of control systemsDevelop and maintain documentation, including system specifications, wiring diagrams, and user manualsProvide technical support and training to end-users and maintenance personnel.Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policiesParticipate in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting activitiesStay updated with the latest advancements in control systems technology and industry trends

Qualifications:

BS Engineering or Engineering Technologies degree preferred; relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.Previous experience with automation equipment and toolingProven experience required in PLC, HMI and SCADA programming and systems (Allen Bradley, Ignition, Inrules, SQL, VB, Kepware, etc.)Strong knowledge of HMI development and configurationFamiliarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP)Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Key Competencies:

Experience with a variety of industrial controls and applications is preferredUnderstanding of mechanical systems in a semi and fully automated industrial application is preferredProject leadership and team building skills a plusExperience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma tools and methodology a plusAbility to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization is required. Must be able to speak and write clearly and conciselyPossession of initiative to further develop technical skills, interpersonal skills and career pathMust have strong work ethic with a positive attitude, and be customer-focused, team-oriented and results-driven

 

Compensation:   

Base Pay Range: $80,000-110,000/annually
