Control Systems Engineer
Total Number of Openings 1 Designs, selects, tests, installs, monitors, modifies, and maintains safe and reliable process automation systems for new and existing facilities. Utilizes process automation systems (PAS) including process control systems (PCS), safety instrumented systems (SIS)/instrumented protective systems (IPS), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems and associated applications. Optimizes process automation system integrity, reliability, safety, and efficiency. Supports larger customers/clients and may lead functional projects under infrequent supervision. Developing a detailed knowledge of the work function. + Designs, selects, tests, installs, monitors, modifies, and maintains safe and reliable process automation systems for new and existing facilities. + Utilizes process automation systems (PAS) including process control systems (PCS), safety instrumented systems (SIS)/instrumented protective systems (IPS), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems and associated applications. + Optimizes process automation systems integrity, reliability, safety, and efficiency. + Organizes and leads cross-functional teams to address complex issues or technical activities. + Collaborates with operations, maintenance, & construction personnel to identify, develop & implement offshore and onshore brownfield projects. + Verifies offshore equipment is installed and operates within company specifications, applicable regulations, industry codes, & Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP) + Identifies and resolves control performance issues by coordinating with colleagues in other areas of specialization (instrumentation, analyzers, process, mechanical equipment, etc.) + Identifies and captures opportunities for improving the safety, reliability, profitability, and operability of the business unit through process control improvements. + Trains personnel on the effective use of process control applications and systems. + Develops and reviews relevant engineering and construction execution documents in support of the MOC (Management Of Change Process) including workpacks, control philosophies, Cause and Effects diagrams, P&IDs, etc. + Participates and contributes to safety reviews (HazOps, LOPA, etc.). + Participates in Alarm Management Activities including Alarm Rationalization and AOA’s. + Reviews EPC Contractor deliverables and ensure consistency with Design Specification for assigned facilities. + Support the development and review of FAT, SAT procedures and checklists. + Drives project execution schedules within operating requirements and company business objectives. + Proactively lead cross-functional efforts to tangibly drive business results by developing optimization solutions, defect elimination, and root cause analysis investigations. + Monitors project financial performance within planned company budget and overall business outcomes Chevron participates in E-Verify in certain locations as required by law.
