Job Description

Our Electronics Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing the electronic systems and equipment used throughout the airport. This role involves troubleshooting issues with electronic devices, such as communication systems, security scanners, baggage handling systems, and information displays, to ensure they operate efficiently and reliably. The technician performs regular preventive maintenance checks and responds to emergency repair needs, often working in collaboration with other technical teams. Additionally, you will be required to keep detailed records of maintenance activities, adhere to safety guidelines, and stay updated on advancements in airport electronics technology to contribute to the continuous improvement of airport operations.

 

WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK AS AN ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN

 

· You like working as a team, toward a common goal

· Install, maintain, and repair electronic systems and equipment within the airport

· Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with electronic devices and systems

· Conduct regular inspections and tests on electronic equipment to ensure functionality and safety

· Collaborate with IT and engineering teams on various technical projects and upgrades

· Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and installations

· Stay up-to-date with advancements in electronics and airport technologies

· Provide technical support and guidance to other airport staff regarding electronic systems

· Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards in electronic maintenance work

· You have a great attention to detail

· You enjoy working with a team or individually to accomplish your tasks

· Strong customer service skills

· Like to build long term relationships with your customers

· Physical activity may include:

· Stand and walk for extended periods of time

· Ability to lift 70 pounds or more

· Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environment

· Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

 

 

Qualifications

· Minimum age of 18 years old

· Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents

· 3 Years electrical experience

· Comfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and tablets

· Ability to pass a drug screen

· Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
