We are looking for an individual who will be part of the Second Line Monitoring Team in Manila, which is a group of risk professionals providing support to other nonfinancial risk functions of other ING entities. Job Overview

The Second Line Monitoring is a service being offered by ING Hubs Philippines towards other ING entities. The primary service proposition is to provide support to the global nonfinancial risk function in various ING entities, with Group NFR in Amsterdam as the service owner.

The Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Specialist within the Second Line Monitoring Team reports hierarchically to Risk Services Super Circle in ING Hubs Philippines. The role functionally reports to Group Non-Financial Risk (NFR), which is part of ING’s Second Line of Defense.

NFR Specialist’s main duties/responsibilities may include, and will not be limited to, the following:

Planning and coordinating operational activities of second line of defense, whether these are coming from Group NFR or from other ING entities;Challenging the design, operating effectiveness, and quality of controls and key control testing (KCT) throughout the year (generic controls, product controls and SOX controls);Discussing with first line of defense the results of the quality review on key control testingProviding recommendations on how to improve the quality of key control testing, relevant documentation of controls, and registration of controls in the risk database.Contributing or participating in the initiatives driven by Group NFR or by other second line functions from other ING entities;Steering or contributing to strategic or tactical initiatives of Risk Services as a Super Circle

With the role functionally reporting to Group NFR, the NFR Specialist is expected to contribute significantly to operational activities that are part of the risk management cycle. These activities may include data deep-dives, policy writing and review, thematic reviews of control gaps, audit issues, and incidents.

Key Capabilities / Minimum Qualifications:

University degree (business-related qualification is an advantage, but applicants with degrees in other disciplines are welcome to apply);Accumulated working experience 5 to 6 years, with focus on risk management, audit, or complainceExperience in working for a financial institution or in a captive industry is preferred but not required;Experience in operations or advisory role is preferred but not required;Strong knowledge of risk management, audit, compliance, or controls testing;Advanced knowledge of various MS office applications, specifically MS teams, excel, power point;Exposure in working in a culturally diverse environment;Basic knowledge of power BI or Alteryx is an advantage;Experienced in conceptualizing and/or implementing process improvements and managing small to medium scale projects;Independent and self-organizing, but also a team player with strong interpersonal skills who is able to operate in a diversified and multicultural work environment;Able to adapt to a matrix organization (functional and local reporting lines);Flexible in taking on various responsibilities (not limited to risk management) and in adjusting to strategic business changes and/or operational practices;Strong and effective communication skills – fluent in written and spoken English;Excellent analytical skills as well as a keen eye for detail;Willing to conduct trainings for peers or new hires, or be cross-trained in other relevant roles, if needed.Able to report onsite in Makati office, depending on the needs and requirements of the businessAble to work mid-shift (2pm to 11pm) if needed
