Description
Robert Half is looking for an experienced Controller to lead and manage the accounting operations of our client's organization based in the Greater Philadelphia area. This Controller role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance, and driving improvements in processes to support growth. The ideal Controller candidate will bring strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of multi-entity accounting.
Responsibilities:
+ Oversee all daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and the month-end close process.
+ Lead, mentor, and develop a team of four accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
+ Manage and refine financial reporting systems within Sage Intacct, ensuring accurate multi-entity consolidations and intercompany transactions.
+ Ensure adherence to compliance standards and internal controls across all organizational entities.
+ Partner with leadership teams in finance, operations, and production to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives.
+ Coordinate annual audit activities and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
+ Oversee tax compliance and filings in collaboration with external providers, ensuring accuracy across multi-state operations.
Requirements
The ideal Controller candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education. CPA preferred
Other requirements for the Controller position include and are not limited to:
+ 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
+ 2 years in a leadership or managerial role
+ Strong experience with Sage Intacct
+ Knowledge of intercompany accounting and financial consolidations
+ Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
+ Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
