Controller
Robert Half Finance & Accounting
Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of our organization in Lancaster, New York. This role involves providing strategic financial guidance, maintaining accurate accounting records, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, and team leadership.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the President and management team to provide financial analysis and insights for business decisions.
• Oversee accounting records for multiple affiliated companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Manage month-end and year-end closings, including the preparation and reporting of financial statements.
• Supervise the accounting department, including functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, order processing, and payroll.
• Ensure adherence to state and federal compliance requirements and reporting standards.
• Serve as the primary liaison with external partners, including legal, accounting, insurance, and banking firms.
• Develop and maintain budgets and financial forecasts to support organizational objectives.
• Establish and monitor product pricing strategies and manage monthly cash flow.
• Lead the hiring, training, and development of accounting staff to build a strong and efficient team. Requirements • Proven experience in auditing and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of budget processes and financial forecasting.
• Ability to manage multiple entities and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Familiarity with state and federal compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in financial software and tools to streamline accounting operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
