Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee comprehensive accounting operations for our organization in Falls Church, Virginia. This is a long-term contract position that requires a detail-oriented individual adept at managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities: • Supervise all accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial operations. • Lead the monthly financial close process, including the verification of incurred costs and proper recording. • Review journal entries to maintain consistency and precision. • Conduct reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness. • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. • Utilize Deltek Costpoint to manage accounting operations related to federal government contracts. • Monitor and maintain compliance with financial standards specific to government contracting. • Identify and implement improvements to financial processes to optimize efficiency. • Collaborate with internal teams to support accurate and effective accounting practices. Requirements • Strong expertise in overseeing accounting functions, including financial close processes. • Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint software for managing accounting tasks. • Solid knowledge of federal government contracts and related financial regulations. • Experience in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations. • Familiarity with balance sheet management and financial statement preparation. • Ability to manage month-end close processes effectively and accurately. • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills for financial oversight. • Proven ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively within a team environment.
