Controller
Description We are looking for a highly skilled Controller to join our team in the Portland, Maine area on a contract basis. In this role, you will oversee key financial operations, including reporting, managing the month-end close process, and supervising staff. Responsibilities: • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial reports and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. • Manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all tasks. • Lead and supervise accounting staff, providing guidance and support to maintain high performance standards. • Monitor and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure efficiency. • Conduct audits to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures as needed. • Develop and maintain budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. • Utilize NetSuite and other accounting software to streamline financial operations and reporting. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data migration and system implementations. • Generate custom financial reports using tools like Crystal Reports to meet business needs. • Evaluate and improve accounting procedures to enhance overall efficiency and accuracy. Requirements • Proven experience in financial management and accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable. • Strong proficiency in using NetSuite and other accounting software systems. • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of accounting professionals. • Expertise in audit processes and a solid understanding of compliance standards. • Experience with budgeting and financial planning processes. • Proficiency in creating customized reports using tools such as Crystal Reports. • Familiarity with data migration and system implementation projects. • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
