Description A client based in Mountain Lakes, NJ is currently seeking a Controller to join their company on a contract to full-time basis. The Controller will initially train with the departing employee, and take over responsibility for a small accounting staff, own the monthly close process, prepare monthly financials, and monitor cash flow on a daily basis. The ideal Controller will have prior experience working in a hands-on capacity within small to mid-sized, family owned companies. Additionally, the Controller should have strong technology skills, and be comfortable in environments where some manual input is required. Experience working on SAGE software, and a high level of proficiency with Excel is a must! Requirements • Proven experience in accounting leadership roles, preferably within a seasonal or family-run business. • Proficiency in Sage 100 and advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting. • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. • Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate financial statements and monthly close reports. • Solid understanding of cash flow management and related reporting. • Experience supervising and mentoring accounting teams. • Familiarity with public agency compliance and tax regulations. • Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage deadlines and collaborate effectively.
