Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Augusta, Georgia, on a long-term contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to work with a well-established nonprofit organization, overseeing critical financial operations and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities: • Lead and manage the preparation of fiscal year-end audits, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. • Oversee all aspects of fund accounting, including philanthropic funding and grant management. • Supervise and support accounting managers, including those responsible for real estate and gift activity processing. • Manage the financial tasks related to lease agreements and tax-exempt bond accounting. • Utilize Blackbaud and QuickBooks to maintain accurate accounting records and streamline processes. • Coordinate administrative tasks, such as calendar management and audit deadlines, to ensure operational efficiency. • Support the successful completion of financial projects, including real estate LLC accounting and record conversions. • Analyze budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure alignment with organizational financial goals. • Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations and best practices. • Provide guidance on software service agreements and other technology-related financial matters. Requirements • Proven experience in nonprofit fund accounting and foundation grant management. • Proficiency in accounting software such as Blackbaud and QuickBooks. • Strong knowledge of accounts receivable, auditing, and budget processes. • Expertise in managing complex financial projects, including real estate and lease agreements. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting. • Familiarity with tax-exempt bonds and associated accounting practices. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment. • Excellent leadership and communication skills to coordinate with diverse teams.
