Robert Half is partnering with a wonderful client in New Orleans, LA that is searching for a Controller to join their team!
Requirements
Responsibilities:
+ Assists in the development and implementation of company goals and priorities relating to financial management, budget, accounting, purchasing, and/or payroll in compliance with State and Federal law, and company policies and procedures.
+ Monitors company compliance with all provisions of the company’s management contract.
+ Reviews and/or prepares event settlements.
+ Reviews and executes checks and deposits, reviews of daily cash receipts and disbursements.
+ Reviews purchasing capital assets and supplies.
+ Manage and maintain internal controls and compliance in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables
+ Coordinate and work with auditors to complete annual audit and issue financial statements in accordance with GAAP and GASB.
+ Ensure proper internal controls are in place and assist in audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries or requests.
+ Direct the installation and maintenance of any new accounting, timekeeping, payroll, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls.
+ Review financial statements with department heads.
+ Develop and implement all financial reporting including: Prepare financial statements and other financial reports, including monthly statements, annual budget, and year-end reports, Direct the installation and maintenance of accounting records to ensure completion and accuracy, Review bank reconciliations, account reconciliations and other analyses as needed, and Direct the maintenance of all general ledgers, accounts receivables, accounts payables, depreciation, payroll, and operating expenses.
+ Analyze financial performance and cost analysis for all departments; prepare monthly financial statements, recommend appropriate actions/changes in order to meet business goals.
+ Oversee Monthly financial statements and review for accuracy.
Qualifications:
+ B. S./M.S. in Accounting; CPA preferred
+ At least 5 to 7 years’ experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, and/or government accounting
+ Proficiency/experience in GASB financial reporting
+ Extensive knowledge of general and cost accounting
+ Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and organizational ability with attention to detail.
+ Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information is required.
+ Strong supervisory skills
+ Ability to prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis.
