Controller

Reporting to the SVP Finance, the Controller will be responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting and reporting activities. The Controller will need to be hands on and able to lead all day-to-day finance operations and supervise a team in accounting and accounts payable.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage month end closing; prepare journal entries Balance sheet reconciliations Produces accurate and timely monthly financial statements Explain variances to monthly budget/forecasts Prepare monthly commission reports Monthly sales and use tax filings and annual property tax assessment Fixed Assets and capital expenditure requests Weekly Income Statement Flash and monthly KPI reporting Weekly cash flow reporting; reviewing daily bank reconciliation Oversee the annual external audit and income tax Prepares annual budgets and quarterly forecasts Oversee year end physical inventory count Assist in implementation of standard cost system Special projects 3 to 5 years of experience as a Controller preferably in a Manufacturing environment; standard costing background preferred. Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of MS Office Suite of applications; Technical Skills to Extract Data from core NetSuite required.   Good interpersonal skills required to operate in and maintain a team environment.  Ability to problem solve with or without oral or written instructions. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance Required; Master’s Degree or CPA Strongly Preferred

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position works in the office environment and in the manufacturing plant and as such Is our business Is exposed to manufacturing machines, glass and other materials, paint, etc.

 

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.  Ability to lift 25lbs Is required.

 

DIRECT REPORTS:

This position leads the Accounting team and has approximately 3 direct reports.
