About this Role

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Quanta Government Solutions, a subsidiary of Quanta Services Inc. (NYSE:PWR), currently seeks a Controller to be a key financial leader and strategic partner to the President. The Controller will oversee the design and execution of financial reporting, revenue accounting, accounting and tax functions and the development and implementation of related systems, controls, procedures and policies. The selected candidate will lead accounting and tax policy and ensure compliance with GAAP,  DCAA regulations, SOX and other applicable rules and laws and will report on and review the periodic accounting results with senior leadership. The Controller will be responsible for leading a strong operational and business partnering- oriented organization.

What You'll Do

ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS/DUTIES:

Provide strategic direction and is accountable for the development and deployment of financial and reporting processes that ensure compliance with GAAP, DCAA and SOX.Direct and oversee all aspects of the accounting, tax and control functions. Accountable for the development, deployment, and implementation of all company methods, procedures, and practices to safeguard the assets of the enterprise and to properly reflect its financial results. Accountable for the accurate and timely interpretation of GAAP, DCAA  and SOX compliance standards and the accurate incorporation of such interpretations into the global financial records.Provide executive level financial reporting and analysis to operating unit executive and project management personnel to promote sound and timely management decision-making including requisite analysis and insight on revenue, project cost, indirect cost, and SG&A trends and variances.Responsible for monthly financial close activities including the effective assessment of project margins considering the current project operating conditions using both unit pricing and percentage-of -completion methods.Responsible for judgments and estimates relative to revenue recognition and working capital on a wide array of contracts including fixed price (percentage-of-completion method of accounting) and variable price contracts.In concert with executive and operational management, lead, prepare, and analyze monthly financial forecasts including revenue, margin, indirect cost, SG&A, and capital spend projections (cash forecast).Active participation in senior management strategy sessions involving commercial considerations for pricing, capital expenditures, and other key operating mattersCollaborate with operational billing team and payroll teams to ensure seamless information flow for accounting, forecasting, and analysis purposes.Manage, report, and analyze working capital metrics primarily focused on timely customer billing and accounts receivable collection.Lead the annual financial planning process ensuring that the annual plan reflects company strategic objectives.Provide financial and contractual decision-making support for sales and proposals effortsDeliver financial analysis and insight into capital investment decisions.

 

What You'll Bring

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors (or similar) degree in Accounting with a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible financial / management experience and a minimum of 3 years in a Controller roleExperience with public company SOX and DCAA control requirements and reporting. Ability to hold operations accountable to ensure controls are strongly adhered to in the operating environment.Construction industry background, including governmental accounting with significant experience and related interactions with project operations and executive management and experience using the percentage -of-completion accounting method.Understands the nuances of industrial construction and maintenance operations with a focus on providing value-added financial analysis and process efficiency solutions.Exhibits an internal and external client first disposition based on close collaboration, frequent communication, and a consulting / analytical mindsetStrong leadership and communication skills necessary to manage matters which are both directly and indirectly under the candidate’s influence while working collaboratively in a team environmentDemonstrated ability to cooperatively problem-solve in a dynamic environment prone to fast-paced changeAbility to effectively analyze financial information and present to executive management for successful management decision makingCapacity to work independently while meeting multiple, competing deadlines with quality deliverablesProven strategic thinker with effective execution skills and the ability to effectively organize and prioritize workStrong Microsoft Excel and data management skillsProfessional Accounting Certification (CPA or Chartered Accountant)
