Education/Experience

Undergraduate degree from a four-year college or university/Bachelor of Science in Accounting preferred5 to 7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment as a cost accountant, staff accountant or financial analyst.Previous supervisory experience desiredCPA Certification

Good verbal and written communication skillsAbility to lift 50 poundsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerGood interpersonal skillsA strong knowledge of accounting procedures, systems, and principles required including, but not limited to:General ledger, financial reporting and budgetingBusiness planningStandard costs and analysis of variancesInformation systems/ERP softwareInternal controls, procedures and workflowFixed asset, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and general accounting functionsComputer skills and ability to adapt to many types of softwareResponsibility/AuthorityResponsible for the accuracy and integrity of all areas of the Accounting department functionsResponsible for sales and usage taxes, 5500 reporting and property taxesResponsible for monthly 10 Day package and quarterly reports to Colson and quarterly/annual reports totax accountantsResponsible for completion of Insurance information requestsResponsible for understanding inventory costing and establishing standard cost rates for inventoryResponsible for accuracy of payroll and CERP reportingResponsible for accuracy of month end reports, journal entries, and reconciliations including reconciliationof perpetual inventory to general ledger and variance analysisResponsible for evaluation of the appropriateness and effectiveness of all areas of spendingResponsible for creating annual budget and business plans including assessment of business riskResponsible for establishing and pursing annual goals/objectives for Accounting and ITResponsible for the timely and accurate completion of the annual auditResponsible for upholding all Colson policies and procedures
