We seek a dynamic and experienced Controller, reporting to the VP, of Accounting to join our high-growth, private equity-backed technology company. As the Controller, you will oversee the accounting operations and play a critical role in ensuring financial integrity, reporting accuracy, and scalability as we continue to grow. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with executive leadership and private equity stakeholders, contributing to strategic financial initiatives while fostering a collaborative team culture.Your Responsibilities:Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to ensure high performance and professional growthFoster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, promoting accountability, open communication, and alignment with company values across multiple locationsEffective delegating and distributing workload to maximize team efficiency and moraleOversee and optimize working capital, including managing cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure liquidity and operational efficiencyImplement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate riskDrive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracySupport transaction-related activities such as due diligence and post-acquisition integrationSupport integration activities related to acquisitionsOversee preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including technical accounting, in compliance with U.S. GAAPManage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring completeness and accuracyServe as the primary point of contact for external auditors and manage the annual audit processEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controlsAssist in preparation and financial reports, including KPIs and dashboards, for private equity sponsors and other stakeholdersOversee compliance with debt covenants and reporting requirementsManage relationships with lenders, ensuring timely communication and reportingMonitor and forecast debt obligations, including interest payments and principal repayments, to optimize cash flow and liquidity Partner with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisProvide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-makingSystems thinking - ensure scalability of financial systems and processes to support growth initiativesYour Skills and Qualifications:CPA designation required; MBA or advanced degree preferredStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial reportingProficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management rolesPrior experience in a private equity-backed company or high-growth environment is highly preferredDemonstrated success in managing audits, financial consolidations, and system implementationsProven ability to lead and develop high-performing accounting teamsExperience fostering a positive, collaborative team environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a business partnership mindsetAbility to support strategic initiatives, including M&A and process scalingExceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholdersAdaptable to changing priorities and capable of performing under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.Benefits of Working at Rover.comCompetitive compensation401kFlexible PTOCompetitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insuranceCommuter benefitsBring your dog to work (and unlimited puppy time)Doggy benefits, including $1000 toward adopting your first dogStocked fridges, coffee, soda, and lots of treats (for humans and dogs) and free catered lunches semi-monthly Regular team activities performed in-person and virtuallyCompensation:In the greater Seattle area the first-year salary range is $158,513-$210,822 with a 15% bonus.
