Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in the Consumer Products industry in Charlotte, North Carolina, for a skilled Controller. In this role, you will have the significant responsibility of overseeing general accounting functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll, as well as managing the month-end close process. Responsibilities: • Take charge of the day-to-day transactional activity of accounts receivable, including cash application, and accounts payable, including payment. • Supervise the accounting team and report to the CFO. • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in all accounting practices. • Lead the preparation and processing of all general ledger transactions, including cash activity, customer invoices, accounts payable, corporate credit cards, payroll, and GL entries. • Manage intercompany accounts and related party transactions, ensuring costs are properly allocated to correct companies. • Ensure timely collection of accounts receivable through proactive follow-up. • Conduct multiple high-volume transaction bank reconciliations. • Prepare weekly sales and associated job cost margin analysis. • Oversee the monthly financial close process, including GL account reconciliations. • Handle monthly/quarterly sales tax filings and reports. • Collaborate with the purchasing and materials departments to ensure accurate inventory levels and controls. • Review Balance Sheet and P& L accounts for accurate preparation of financials. • Investigate and rectify account discrepancies promptly and accurately. Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position within the Consumer Products industry • Proven expertise in managing Accounting Functions • Demonstrated ability to handle Month End Close processes efficiently • Proficiency in maintaining and managing the General Ledger • Proficiency in using NetSuite for accounting and financial tasks • Experience in creating and managing Journal Entries • Expertise in preparing and managing Adjusting Journal Entries • Strong ability in Journal Entry Preparation • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's Degree preferred) • Excellent communication and leadership skills • Strong organizational and analytical skills • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines • A proactive problem solver with the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues.
