Controller
Description We are looking for a knowledgeable Nonprofit Controller to join our client. This position will report directly to the finance director and handle the organization's financial operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial and management skills. Responsibilities: Supervise all daily accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll and cash management. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures. Prepare budgets, financial statements, and various reports to meet state, federal, and organizational requirements. Collaborate regularly with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained. Oversee the organization's investment portfolio. Ensure the organization complies with all state and federal laws, specifically in regard to financial and tax reporting requirements. Participate in high-level organizational decision-making as an integral part of the senior management team. Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget. Review monthly financial reports and ensure all information is recorded accurately. Collaborate with administrative and development teams to enhance and streamline financial procedures. Requirements + Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; a CPA or MBA is preferred. + At least 7 years of general accounting experience with 3 years in a management role. + Previous experience working in a nonprofit organization. + Proficient in accounting software and MS Office Suite. Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus. + Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations. + Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines. + Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a diverse team.
